Individual Counseling
Now that you're here, how can I help?
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor with 18 years of experience. I am also a certified school counselor with 12 years of experience supporting students and families. I earned my M.A. in Counseling from Sam Houston State University and hold an Ed.D. in Executive Leadership in Mental Health and Human Services from Houston Christian University. My background includes community mental health, crisis services, residential facilities, and public schools, giving me a well-rounded perspective on the challenges people face. I’ve spent much of my career working with adolescents and families navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approach is down-to-earth, engaging, and rooted in a strengths-based perspective, using a healthy amount of humor and real-life insight to empower clients to reach their personal goals.

My approach to therapy
My work with clients starts with building a strong rapport and truly understanding their perspective. I take a collaborative approach, partnering with clients to set meaningful goals and using evidence-based practices tailored to their unique needs. Sessions are designed to be engaging and empowering, helping clients recognize their own strengths and build practical skills they can use in everyday life. I have extensive experience supporting individuals and families navigating ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and the complexities of healthcare and educational systems. Overall, my focus is on creating a supportive, solution-focused space where clients feel understood and equipped to move forward with confidence.

What you can expect from me
In your first session, we’ll focus on understanding your reason for coming to counseling and what you hope to gain from the experience. I’ll gather some background information and get a sense of your history, while also learning about your goals and what direction you’d like therapy to take. This is a collaborative conversation, and you’ll have space to share at your own pace. Together, we’ll begin to outline a plan that feels right for you. As we move forward, we can adjust those goals as needed, and I’ll check in regularly to make sure we’re still aligned.

Anxiety
ADHD
Did you know that individuals with ADHD often possess incredible strengths,? However, they can also experience some significant challenges.
Through therapy, clients can learn to recognize and build upon their unique strengths while developing practical strategies to navigate areas of growth. We will work together to learn effective coping skills, improve confidence, strengthen relationships, and create systems that support success. ADHD does not have to define your struggles. It can become a source of understanding, empowerment, and growth.
Trauma
Trauma occurs when an experience threatens our physical or emotional safety and our efforts to protect ourselves are unsuccessful. These experiences can leave us feeling helpless, fearful, disconnected, or constantly on alert long after the danger has passed. Trauma can impact the way we think, feel, relate to others, and respond to everyday situations.
Through a compassionate and trauma-informed approach, I help clients understand how past experiences may be influencing present-day reactions. Together, we can identify where trauma may be hijacking your responses, develop effective coping strategies, and work toward restoring a sense of safety, empowerment, and agency in your life.
Depression
Depression can be difficult for others to understand. Sometimes, from the outside, life appears to be going well, yet internally you may feel disconnected, exhausted or overwhelmed. Depression can impact motivation, relationships, work, and overall quality of life, making even simple tasks feel challenging.
Through compassion, understanding, and evidence-based therapeutic strategies, I will work alongside you to identify barriers and restore a sense of balance and purpose. Together, we will develop practical tools to improve daily functioning, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward renewed motivation, hope, and joy in life.
Anxiety is one of the most common human emotions and, at times, serves an important purpose. However, when anxiety becomes overwhelming or begins to interfere with daily life it may be time to seek support.
Through evidence-based therapeutic approaches clients are empowered through understanding their anxiety and developing effective coping strategies to build confidence in navigating life's challenges.
