Meet Dr. Duer
Mental Health Advocate, Licensed Professional Counselor, Public Speaker, and Podcaster
Hi, and welcome!
I'm so glad you're here.
If you've spent even a few minutes exploring my website, you've probably realized I'm passionate about a lot of things! At the center of all of them is helping people discover their strengths and become the healthiest, most authentic version of themselves.
A Little About Me
Above all else, I'm a wife and a mom. My two children are my pride and joy. My son, Carson, is an incredible young man who began his college journey at just 13 years old. Helping him discover opportunities to let his light shine has been one of life's greatest privileges. I'm on pins and needles to see where life takes him!
My daughter, Chloe, recently graduated in the top 25% of her class and is headed to Louisiana State University Eunice to continue her academic and softball career. GEAUX Bengals! Having a front-row seat to her growth into a confident leader, phenomenal teammate, and resilient young woman has been one of my greatest joys.
I'm also a proud law enforcement wife. My husband, Zach, has dedicated his career to improving school safety and strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. He has been a driving force in improving training for school resource officers across the State of Texas, and I'm beyond proud of his impact.
These are my favorite people, and I love doing life with them!
Professional Life
Professionally, I'm energized by new ideas, meaningful conversations, and helping people recognize the strengths they often overlook in themselves. One of my favorite questions to ask is, "What's strong with you?" Because while it's important to understand our struggles, I believe it's equally important to recognize the resilience, talents, and experiences that have carried us this far. Everyone has unique gifts waiting to be discovered!
I also live by a quote that has become something of a personal philosophy:
"Some people see things as they are and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask, 'Why not?'"
That "Why Not?" mindset influences everything I do, from counseling and consulting to speaking, writing, blogging, and hosting my podcast. I love challenging the status quo, finding creative solutions, and helping others see possibilities where they once saw obstacles.
Whether you're here because you're looking for individual counseling, searching for professional development for your organization, hoping to strengthen your team, or simply stopping by to listen to the podcast or read the blog, I'm honored you've chosen to spend a little time here.
I hope you leave feeling encouraged, empowered, and reminded that growth isn't about becoming someone else; it's about discovering the strength that's already within you.
